| That is a good bit of kit. I had the adventurer 7000. But the screen was half that size. I ended up transfering the memory map software to my laptop (bigger screen) You can upload any map to memory map see my website for more info www.saharaoverland.co.uk |

| The Adventurer S7000 is the ultimate GPS device. Pre-loaded as standard with full UK & European SatNav for on-road navigation as well as Memory-Map software for off-road navigation, the Adventurer S7000 is the most versatile large screen GPS available. Vietnam tour

Yeah your quite right I misread the web site it's a bit misleading I put in the search for the S7000 and it showed the 2800 just looked again the 7000 is a lot bigger and comes with more loaded maps

| I have had my S7000 for a while now and what an excellent bit of kit...!!!!!! I even managed to upload my own scanned map of Morocco and calibrate it on the S7000 with ease. I used it during my 2011 Morocco trip, and it was spot on! I recently have just returned from an Alps trip where I used the memory map mapping for Europe, and again was pleased with the results. Its not a cheap unit, but it is an excellent piece of kit.!! |

| Being cheeky here scott - any chance of a copy of your morocco map ?
Like the unit - and its easy to see as I'm a fair way from the screen in the Iveco so the 7 inch screen is good
Oh and if anyone has maps of portugal showing dirt roads etc. then I'd love copies of thse too

| Hi Rich, I just bought a 10 GBP Topo paper map and got it scanned in high res at my local printers. They charged me 10 GBP for doing this. I then used DIMIN viewer (free to download) to adjust the Palette settings as you need to change it to 256 for the S7000 to accept the map. There is a thread on memory map technical forum explaining the steps. I then used Google earth to plot the Lat and Longs to calibrate it. (Needs a minimum of 3 points, but I use 5) I can send you it, but you might already have a Topo paper map that would work? FYI - I have also just done the same with a paper map of Botswana and saved it on my 3500 for a back up GPS for my next trip, as the hire 4x4 comes with GPS, but I wanted a handheld as a back up. |
