Well, I am in Bamako Mali for a couple of weeks and kicking myself that Tembo (my 110) isn't here with me. Every day is brilliant sunshine, nice and warm and perfect for an open top Landrover. Definitely an improvement over soggy and grey Milton Keynes!

For those who may consider passing through, southern Mali is looking fine and very friendly...as long as you stay as far from the northern Mali borders as possible (kidnapping of French traveller last week). Had a beer in a popular backpackers place yesterday and met a number of people passing though and enjoying Bamako.

I have been invited by some local friends here on a tour into the north to spend some time with Toureg families and see the sights...once the pesky Al Qaeda types have moved on of course. Ahhh...maybe one day.

Cheers!

Tembo - thanks for the update - that is all sounding very encouraging.

We'll keep an eye on it and maybe venture into the southern areas.

keep the updates coming in!

Never mind the weather, just getting away from MK has to be a step in the right direction! Rolling Eyes
